Über die Veranstaltung
What I like about CI is the variety of possibilities – dances can be deep and calm, light, slow, playful and everything in between. People with very different previous experiences can practice CI together.
Even though it is an improvised form of dance, there are still basics that we can learn and practice to make our dances freer and safer.
This summer weekend we will explore some of the basics of contact improvisation. We will learn skills (such as rolling, falling, giving and taking weight) as well as training our awareness. We will dance dances with and without touch, with the floor, in solos, duos or trios.
Questions that we (can) ask ourselves here include:
- What happens when we lose weight?
- What is the “rolling point”?
- How can we cultivate attentive (physical) contact?
- How do I lose weight?
- How can I work with gravity and not against it?
Through playful exercises we will approach the dance encounter, always with an alert listening both inward and outward.
